Trex decks are made of composite wood, which is a mixture of wood fibers and polymer (polypropylene, polyethylene, PVC). The percentage of content of the two alloy materials can vary from 70 to 30 percent to 45 to 55 percent, depending on different manufacturers. The result is a highly weatherproof material, relatively flexible and easy to clean.

Despite this, the regular maintenance process is a bit more extensive than simple surface sweeping, and the best advice in this regard you can get right from Trex decking installers.
BBB approved Parker Trex decking contractors recommend a periodic cleaning of the terrace, once every 4-6 months, to remove dirt, mud, earth or other organic materials that settle over time.
For a general cleaning, it is recommended to apply a warm water solution with detergent and clean with a brush with soft plastic bristles. The procedure must, of course, be followed by rinsing the entire surface with clean water.
For a deep cleaning, a pressure washer can be used. Keep in mind, however, that a very strong and localized jet may cause damage, so it is recommended a water jet application distance of about 30 cm. Once the persistent dirt has been removed, apply the detergent solution and water, as described above.
