Ron started the company 17 years ago so he could work with his 7 sons no matter what age they were. The goal was to teach them a good work ethic, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a marketable skill. Due to the family’s hard work, good business decisions and the blessing of God, Denver Deck Builders has grown to 8 crews and over 30 people while building nearly 2000 decks for satisfied customers to enjoy. Ron has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from the University of Michigan. Ron passed the PE exam nearly 30 years ago in Civil Engineering, so he can custom design and stamp his own deck plans to meet specific customer requests. Ron also passed the Class A General Contractors exam giving him the authority and the license to build sky scrapers, but he prefers to work directly with customers and build decks with his sons. Ron and his wife of 35 years, Nancy, enjoy discipling their children and grandchildren, travel, golf, mountain biking, climbing 14ers, and mentoring other married couples/parents in their church.
